Are you a planner?

So jumping into dream planning mode is where I excel! While I was preparing for that off grid dream, I am more than happy to switch gears into planning our future staying here and our new business. I’m giving us 5 years with this new dream too because I want to be sure we are set up for success. My notes for the off grid lifestyle are not being thrown away though just in case 😂

So my first planning strategy is to write a list of everything we will need to do, money we’ll need, and materials we’ll need. Notebooks are a must in this household! Since my husband is already a journeyman electrician, license wise he’ll just need his Master’s. I also did some digging and I can get a helpers license so I’ll be able to help with installations when needed. My main job will be administrative though. For that aspect I plan to have a reliable computer with the necessary programs such as excel, word, etc. We’ll also need a business insurance which I am still looking into what kinds we need and how much approximately those will cost. Another item we’ll need is a company van. As an electrical company we’ll need to have various tools and materials readily available for the least amount of travel time for each job. There are more things that will be added to my list as the 5 years go by but this is my starting point.

Before starting an electrical company money will have to be a main priority. Not only do we need a back up plan for times of unstable income but we’ll need a base account to purchase materials for these jobs such as wire, boxes, lighting, and so much more. My plan is to build up an emergency business fund along with a family emergency fund. Dave Ramsey is one of my role models when it comes to finances so we will be following his financial peace structure. We do have some small debts that need to be gone by the time we start our business such as our Jeep payment and we’d like to buy the company van we’ll be getting in cash!

How I plan… Notebooks is the number 1 tool I use to plan. I also utilize the notes app on my phone, white boards, hanging calendars, and my planner which I got from my friend’s business here Megan’s Tula Xii You can also join her VIP group here and tell her Jessica Collamati sent you Megan’s VIP group

How we’re building our funds… Our main source of income comes from my husband who is still working at his current electrical company. It always good to have other sources though so I am part of a direct sales company, I sell things on eBay, and I also am constantly looking around the house for things we can sell on Craigslist.

The direct sales company I’m part of is Usborne books which is a company that publishes children’s books. This is a win win for me because I can make money but we also get a discount on the books we use to supplement our homeschooling curriculum! Want to check them out? Here is my website UBAM website and you can also join my Facebook group for specials and giveaways here Growing the Love of Reading Facebook group

On eBay I sell mostly Pokémon cards which I buy in huge lots and separate out to make a profit. This is something I can do easily from home other than going to the post office and it doesn’t interfere with our daily routine.

So our adventures continue! Be sure to follow the blog to keep up with how our progress is going and the randomness I’ll post as well 😂

Dreams can Change

🙄 Well so our dreams and plans have changed yet again. Not because anything is in our way or stopping us but because we change our minds a lot 😂

So we are of course still continuing with animals but putting off finding a new piece of land for off grid living. For now the hubby has a goal to own his own electrical business which is a dream that he’s had for many years. So we’ll be staying at our current location since it’ll be much easier to run a business from a location of ease and with good internet/phone reception.

The plan… 5 years is still our goal time frame. He’ll be getting his masters while still working at his amazing company that he’s already at. Plus with that time we can get a good size emergency fund for the lulls that can come with owning a small business.

If your dreams shift and change, don’t worry! Dreams can change and grow. That is the beauty of living life to its fullest! Always be dreaming, making goals, and living life the way you want to live it!

Breakdowns and getting back up again

Anxiety and depression can be a real drain on life. Today I felt the overwhelming pressure of both of them. Sometimes you just need to cry.

So today as I’m sitting in our kitchen about to eat lunch with the hubby, I completely broke down. Loads of unstoppable tears. Nothing crazy bad happened, I didn’t get hurt, just a rush of emotion flowing over the top of me.

I had a feeling earlier in the day that it might happen. Usually when I am going to have an emotional breakdown I get very irritable a few hours leading up to said breakdown. This morning was no different. It started off good but as the morning went on I started getting irritated by everything. I have PTSD so I’m guessing that it flares up before my breakdowns.

After my breakdown I knew I had to relax myself and get straight because I had plans to go over to my parents and meet with the missionaries that are in town. So I made myself a HUGE cup of hot tea and sat in my reclining chair. I hopped on TikTok because even though it may be a stupid app to some it is a major release for someone like me. When time came closer that we needed to leave I got up, threw on my makeup, and let my hair down. Put on some cute clothes and fancy boots too!

Thankfully the rest of the day and night so far too have been going smoothly. When you’re about to have a breakdown or are currently in the middle of one, remember they don’t last forever. Just take it easy and focus on what you, your body, and your mind need at the moment. ❤️

Self love every part of the day

Today was a wonderful day of loving on me by dolling up with make up and letting my hair stay down. But the self love doesn’t need to stop just because the make up has been washed off. Time to commence with the relaxing part of self love.

Self love can come in many different forms and ways and can vary per person too. What I do for my self love doesn’t mean your self love will look the same. Feel free to use what I share or find your own ways to show yourself some love. Whatever you do make sure it’s what you need, what makes you feel good, and benefits your life.

Tonight’s self love means feet up in my recliner, under a cozy blanket, sipping on some hot tea, wearing a cleansing face mask, and watching Mr. Deeds with my hubby. Relaxing is huge for a homeschooling mom of 3 with a small farm.

How do you self love? Leave a comment below!

Makeup for this momma

Today I did my makeup and have my hair down for the first time in a long time! Let me tell you, it feels good! Of course mom of 3 with a 1 income household here so I had to use what I had. Most of my makeup bag has older stuff and the majority is from the Dollar Tree 😂

Still have a ways to go but today I feel good. I even posted what I did for my makeup on TikTok. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJDk6TC7/ Totally prepared to get roasted because I have no idea what I’m doing anymore but I think it came out pretty decent for basically a newbie again. What do you guys think?

2am and I’m on Fire🔥

Okay so it’s 2 am and I am fired up. I have been watching TikTok 🙄 and I need to have that confidence that these girls have on here again! Depression, anxiety, and self esteem issues suck. Time for me to push through all that and take back my life.

Now don’t get me wrong I am happy and have a great life filled with blessings. However, my self esteem issues drain me everyday. I hate the way I look and feel. It’s been like this for a while 😞 I was once mus hottie tottie and had major confidence. Over the years I have been beaten down and wore out. So how do I get back to where I was?

Well I don’t have a solid plan but my first steps are going to be making TikTok videos… I know most people think TikTok is stupid but it seems like people can really be themselves on there so that’s what I need. Next hair down and makeup on everyday! Hate to admit it but I am a very vain person. Outward beauty and how you present yourself are big to me and I’ve been personally lacking in that department big time. I rarely wear makeup ( when I do it’s only foundation and mascara), the mom bun is my 24/7 hair style, and crappy comfortable clothes are my jam.

So today starts a new journey to get my confidence and beauty back! Got any tips for me? Comment or shoot me an email mkjcollamati@gmail.com or to goosez1989 on Kik. Check out my first new me post on TikTok here https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJDh6Lyt/
